Joanna Piwowarczyk

Joanna Piwowarczyk is a research assistant in the Department of Ecology at Institute of Oceanology Polish Academy of Sciences. She is an economist by training, she graduated in 2002 from the Faculty of Management, University of Gdansk. Her research focuses on the ecosystem approach to marine spatial planning, societal governance and marine ecosystem services, their indicators and valuation methodologies. She has been involved in many EU funded projects and co-authored several scientific papers on biological valorization, use of the sea space, and the perception of climate change.

Joanna Piwowarczyk is a member of Marine Board Communication Panel, and over the last years she has co-organised a number of dissemination events such as the Baltic Sea Science Festival, Sopot Darwin Day, Sopot Forum of Young Scientists and other events aimed at the general public.

In the DWARF project she will be responsible for dissemination activities. She will also support the project leader in the overall management of the project and efficient integration of its results.
