Web Page for European Marine Biodiversity Research Bay of Puck, Southern Baltic

This web page is sponsored by the Consortium of Polish Marine Research Institutes, and the Center of Excellence for Shelf Seas Studies at IO PAN

The Vth Framework Concerted Action BIOMARE  (2000-2002) generated the idea of European Marine Biodiversity Research Sites - a selection of localities where the marine biodiversity research should be focused in coming years. MARBENA - another Vth Framework Shared Cost activity, deals with the implementation of BIOMARE research agenda. The Bay of Puck in the southern Baltic have been selected as the site with long term biodiversity record, thus representing the class of  European Marine Biodiversity Monitoring Sites (or Long Term Biodiversity Research Site). This web page is meant as an open information forum for all persons interested in the Bay of Puck research and marine biodiversity research in general. The map shows localities in Europe linked in the European Marine Biodiversity sites network.
