Distinguishing characteristics

Species description
Body with many segments. Prostomium with a pair of long, annulated antennae and a pair of long palps with a short terminal section. Dorsal cirrus with long basal segment with internal acicula. Ventral cirrus short. With simple and compound chaetae, forked chaetae present. Mandibles and maxillae present.

Size
Up to 10 mm.

Color
Alive: whitish to bright yellow.

Habitat
On mud. Upper sublittoral to 410 m.

Mobility
Mobile.

Feeding
Carnivore. Omnivore.

Distribution
European waters, North West Atlantic.
