Distinguishing characteristics
Pair of thick palps and 1 filamentous branchia dorsally on notopodia.
No chaetae longer than body width.
Posterior chaetigers with spines alternating with capillaries, slight constrictions between segments.

Species description
Body long, cylindrical. Prostomium conical with long acutely pointed tip, no eyes. Peristomium achaetous, partially divided into 3 annuli. Pair of grooved tentacular palps originating from dorsal surface of posterior annulus. Long filamentous branchiae arising slightly posterior and lateral to bases of palps, absent posteriorly from approx. 40th segment. Anterior segments with capillary chaetae, mid-body parapodia with long chaetae, thicker capillaries and spines. No chaetae longer than body width. Posterior chaetigers, from approx. 50th segment, with 4-5 spines alternating with capillaries in noto- and neuropodia. Slight constrictions (about 1/5 of chaetiger width) between posterior chaetigers. Pygidium rounded flattened leaf-like lobe.

Up 12 mm for 110 segments.
