A very common benthic snail of Arctic seas.

Size
High of shell: up to 60 mm.
Diameter of shell: up to 50 mm.

Color
Variable: grey or brownish.

Habitat
Epibenthic (seabed surface).

Depth
Eurybathic (0 - 2650 m), mostly on shelf.

Feeding
Carnivorous.

Life cycle
Direct development inside egg capsules.

Distribution
Circumpolar, Pacific boreal-arctic.
