Buccinum sp. (Linnaeus, 1758)

A genus of medium-sized marine snails commonly called whelks. They have soft elongated and spiral body. The shell is ovate and elongated with moderate and pointed spire. Oval or oblong aperture with a deep notch anteriorly.

Species belonging to Buccinum genus are carnivores and scavengers.
