Thallus thin filiform, dark red or brownish-red, tufted, densely branched. Main branched covered with short, hanging branches, often gathering in locks. Lithophyte and epiphyte often attached to Fucus sp. Prevailing down to the depth of 10m. Occuring frequently. Common. High boreal-arctic species.
