Thallus bladed, coriaceous, branched palmately-dichotomously, coloured dark red to almost yellow. Segments cuneate or lanceolate with lateral prolifications, rarely without them. Litophyte. Occures in sublittoral everywhere. common, Boreal-Arctic species.
