Thallus penicillate composed of thin, unbranched filaments, coming out from dense semispherical basal part. Short, clublike filaments and large unicular sporangia developed from the cells of basal part. Epiphyte, attached to Fucus, Halosaccon and other algae, everywhere. Common. Boreal-Arctic species.
