For about 18 months I was a part-time administrator of the
institute's computer network. I configured our first email
and WWW servers . Both were PCs, the former set up in 1993 running SCO Unix,
the latter just plain MS-Windows 3.1 (hard to believe now, but it was 1994).
The WWW server was later upgraded to Windows95 and soon moved to our new
Sun workstation. In 1995 most of the administrative duties
were taken over by a more professional
administrator who configures our Sun Sparc server
ocean.iopan.gda.pl.
However, I still do some minor administrative tasks on our newer RedHat
Linux server water.iopan.gda.pl.
Application programming in FORTRAN, BASIC, Pascal and C/C++ languages. Experience with DOS/Windows, Mac OS and Unix operating systems (including administering SCO Unix, Solaris, SGI Unix and Linux hosts).
