Paracrenhydrosoma oceaniae

  • a new cletodid species of the Acrenhydrosoma-lineage attributed to the genus Paracrenhydrosoma Gee, 1999.
  • described from Kongsfjorden (Spitsbergen)
  • can easily distinguished from its congeners by the reduced setal formula of the natatorial legs
  • detailed comparison of this species with its congeners revealed that the genus, as defined today, appears to be a paraphyletic assemblage and should be redefined in the future
