SYNONYMY

Sertularia verticillata Linnaeus, 1758

DESCRIPTION

Colonies up to 15cm, erect, polisiphonic (Fig.1). Whorls of 4-6 hydrothecae on long pedicels widely spaced around the stem. Hydrotheca bell-shaped with cusped margin, sub-hydrothecal spherule present (Fig..2). Gonotheca with narrow neck and small aperture on short pedicel (Fig.3).
