SYNONYMY

Halecium pygmaeum Fraser, 1911

DESCRIPTION

Colonies creeping, minute in size. Hydrothecae arising from the hydrorhiza or from the ascending stolon below diaphragm of the hydrotheca. Two morphotypes of hydrotheca: in hydrothecae arising from hydrorhiza walls not recurved, in hydrothecae situated at end of the internode their margin strongly recurved (Fig. 1). Gonothecae attached under diaphragm of the hydrothecae by a short stalk (Fig. 2).
