Width: 20-50 µm

Filaments entangled and twisted, bright green. Cells short, rectangular, oval or crescent, pyrenoids 2-3. Occures in littoral and upper sublittoral, in the inner parts of fiords and exposed localities. Rare, in some places forming perceptible assemblages. Widely distributed, mulitzonal species.
